Fan

The fan is a DC motor with blades, and in the simulator its rotation speed follows the voltage and current it receives. Builders use it as a motor load: controlling speed with a resistor or potentiometer, reversing direction, switching it on through a relay or transistor, making light-controlled automatic fans with a sensor, and combining it with lamps, switches and fuses in household and car wiring exercises. For example, "Simple Circuit to control the Speed of the Motor" changes a fan's speed by changing the resistance in series with it.
