Potentiometer

A potentiometer is a resistor with a movable wiper, used either as an adjustable voltage divider (three terminals) or as a variable resistor (two terminals), and its wiper can be adjusted while the simulation runs. Circuits here use it to dim lamps, set motor speed, adjust the frequency of transistor and 555 flashers, set the output of an LM317 regulator, and show how a divider's output depends on the wiper position. For example, "Dividing Voltage using potentiometer" takes a variable fraction of a battery's voltage to drive a lamp.
